“The schools need to undergo various training programs on disaster resilience and management to equip students for potential emergencies,” Magno said.

Dayanghirang said that they are reaching out to several schools for the schedule of the training.

Magno raised the concern of Mayor Ronnie Osnan of Caraga, Davao Oriental whose locality suffered extensive damage from tropical cyclone “Kabayan” last December.

Osnan has sought Magno's assistance after some areas in Caraga are still hard to reach due to the damage from flooding and landslides. Magno vowed to aid Caraga in response.

In a meeting with Osnan on Friday, January 12, Magno inquired on the rehabilitation needed in the area.

Osnan provided details on the magnitude of the destruction caused by Kabayan and the number of residents impacted by the disaster. Caraga is a home to more than 39,000 inhabitants.

Magno assured Osnan that he would help the municipality recoverfrom the aftermath of Kabayan.
