Marcos said this during his meeting with German Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock in Malacañan on Thursday, Jan. 11.

In his remarks, the President said they have been in contact with the German Embassy in the Philippines trying to arrange his visit.

"I think we have finally managed— with your embassy's staff— we've been driving them a little crazy. We keep moving things because things have been coming up. But I think we have come down on the March 12th, the March 12 date. So I can commit to that now," he said.

"It has been a little bit unusual simply because we haven't been able to finalize other commitments that we have," he added.

Marcos expressed confidence that the relationship between the Philippines and Germany would improve after his visit.

"I'm sure that, after the visit to Berlin, many things will develop. We will require your presence here more and more," he told the top German diplomat.

The late former president Benigno' Noynoy" Aquino III was the last Philippine president to visit Berlin. This was part of his four-country swing in Europe in September 2014.
