President Marcos has appointed Jaime Alfonso Antonio Eder Zobel de Ayala as Member of the Department of Trade and Industry’s Inter-Agency Investment Promotion Coordination Committee.
Zobel will be Private Sector Representative from the National Capital Region for a term of three years, said disclosures to the Philippine Stock Exchange by several subsidiaries of Ayala Corporation where he sits as board director.
Being groomed as the next generation leader for the country’s oldest conglomerate at the age of 33, Zobel is the Chief Executive Officer of AC Industrials, the industrial technologies arm of the Ayala Group which manages a portfolio of companies in the manufacturing and mobility industries.
He is also the Chief Executive Officer of ACMobility (formerly AC Motors), a platform for mobility solutions including automotive distribution, dealership, aftersales services, and electric vehicle infrastructure.
Zobel sits in the boards of directors of Globe Telecom, ACEN Corporation, AC Industrials, Isuzu Philippines, Ayala Land Logistics Holdings, and BPI Capital Corporation, among others.
Prior to his roles in AC Industrials and ACMobility, he was the Co-Head of the Strategic Development Group and Head of Business Development and Digital Ventures of Ayala Corporation.
He was also Head of Fixed Mobile Convergence (Product Management) and Head of Business Development (Prepaid Division) of Globe.
Before joining Ayala Group, he was an Analyst at Goldman Sachs Singapore under the Macro Sales Desk (Securities Division).
He graduated at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, with Primary Concentration in Government in 2013 and his Masters of Business Administration from Columbia Business School in New York 2019.
