Mayor Emi reminds employees on responsible use of social media

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano reminded city hall employees on the use of social media in bringing sincere and sufficient services to its residents.

Rubiano emphasized the reliable and factual use of 888-PASAY which is a project of the city government that provides an open connection of the local government and Pasayeños.

“Hindi lamang mga uso o ‘trending’ ang ating dapat tinitignan through technology. Sabi nga sa social media, we must go beyond ‘scrolling’ and opt to do ‘microlearning’ instead of scrolling away sa mga FB Story, sa Reels, or sa mga TikTok, we have to use these platforms to our advantage -- paano tayo magiging mas magaling in what we do, so that collectively, we can all prosper as individuals, as a community, and as a city (It's not only the trends or 'trending' that we should be looking at through technology. In social media, we must go beyond ‘scrolling’ and opt to do ‘microlearning’ instead of scrolling away in FB Stories, in Reels, or in TikTok, we have to use these platforms to our advantage -- how can we be better in what we do, so that collectively, we can all prosper as individuals, as a community, and as a city),"  Rubiano said.

The mayor said she tried to use GenZ lingo and shared it to the city’s Information and Communication Technology Office (ICTO) to ensure that the local government unit (LGU) continues to adapt to the ever-changing social media environment.

She also urged employees to be mindful in the use of social media and not to be fully dependent on it.
