2,300 receive P10,000 presidential aid each in Zamboanga City


ZAMBOANGA CITY – More than 2,000 beneficiaries each received P10,000 cash assistance under the Presidential Assistance for Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Families (PAFFF) at the Western Mindanao State University Gym here on Saturday, September 21.

Mayor John Dalipe here and Rep. Mannix Dalipe of this city led the distribution to 2,299 beneficiaries who failed to receive the assistance during a payout last July. It aims to alleviate economic difficulties caused by the El Niño phenomenon.

A total of 1,185 beneficiaries received assistance on Saturday with the rest getting theirs at the gym on Sunday, September 22.

The PAFFF is a project of the Office of the President in collaboration with the House of Representatives that seeks to provide support to the agricultural sector. 

Meanwhile, 700 government workers and other volunteers here participated in the city-wide coastal cleanup last Saturday on RT Lim Boulevard in observance of the International Coastal Cleanup Day.

Among the volunteers were barangay officials and personnel, the security sector, students, youth organizations, and business owners.

The activity was spearheaded by the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation.

The event is observed annually every third Saturday of September line with Presidential Proclamation 470, Series of 2003. 

RT Lim Boulevard is an area frequented by residents and visitors alike.
