The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has distributed P156 million in emergency and livelihood assistance to more than 31,000 workers in the Bicol Region.

DOLE Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma said the funding is part of the department's  Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Programs (DILEEP), which aims to provide immediate relief and sustainable job opportunities for those in need.

At the same time, job fairs were held in five provinces—Sorsogon, Camarines Norte, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Albay—offering over 2,000 job openings to local job seekers.

Laguesma said the efforts is part of the series of initiatives aimed at delivering essential government services directly to Filipinos.

He emphasized the critical impact of the programs on improving the lives of individuals facing economic challenges.

"These programs, from job fairs to TUPAD payouts and livelihood distributions, reflect our government's dedication to providing quality services to every Filipino," Laguesma stated during the distribution event.

He urged beneficiaries to seize the opportunities presented, highlighting the importance of preparation for job interviews and the effective use of livelihood packages.
