BAGUIO CITY – A Baguio City Regional Trial Court has sentenced a drug pusher to life imprisonment.
Presiding Judge Maria Joy C. Oallares-Cawed of the Baguio RTC Branch 4 found Anthony Lacbungan Rapanut, alias Toots, guilty beyond reasonable doubt of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The court also ordered Rapanut to pay a fine of P500,000.
National Bureau of Investigation-Cordillera Director Daniel Daganzo said they monitored the suspect’s activities until he was arrested in a buy-bust operation in a hotel here on April 25.
Rapanut yielded P500,000 worth shabu, guns, and bullets.
He was also sentenced to four years and two months in prison by Baguio City RTC Branch 7 Presiding Judge Cecilia Corazon Dulay-Archog for violating Republic Act 10591 or the comprehensive law on firearms and ammunition.
