Cops destroy P2-M marijuana; drug pusher falls


CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – Police destroyed fully grown marijuana plants valued at P2 million in an eradication operation in Barangay Licudan, Sugpon, Ilocos Sur on Thursday, September 19.

Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista, Police Regional Office-1 director, said a total of 10,050 FGMJPs were uprooted and burned in three plantations.

Evangelista commended operating units for the successful operation under “Coplan Weedtracker.”

He instructed them to continue their vigilance against illegal activities and encouraged the community and other agencies to collaborate closely with lawmen to enhance safety and security in Region 1 (Ilocos region).

Meanwhile, police arrested a 48-year-old drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in a fast-food chain in Barangay Marcoville, Baguio City, on Friday, September 20.

Police identified the suspect as Myren Delatina of Taguig City.

The suspect was nabbed after she sold shabu to a police poseur-buyer.  Recovered from the suspect who came from Manila were suspected shabu weighing 10 grams worth P68,000 and the boodle money.

Police said the suspect was supposed to make large-scale deliveries in Region 1, 2, and 3 until she was ordered by his boss, a Chinese, to deliver contraband to the poseur-buyer.
