The dynamic duo conspired for all of the Pirates’ 11 points in the extra period to notch their second straight win after absorbing back-to-back defeats.

Barba went on to finish with an impressive 25-point effort on an 11-of-18 clip from the field while hauling eight rebounds, even as Guadana chipped in 12 points including six in the extension.

Arellano stepped on the gas late in the third when it unleashed a 29-7 run to grab the 63-52 upperhand before Lyceum slowly crawled back to regain its bearings to tie the game at 79-all, 18.3 ticks left.

The Chiefs had a chance to clinch the win early but a costly backcourt violation from Will Miller dashed their hopes.

Then it was Barba and Guadana’s turn to steer the Pirates to victory.

Gyle Montano was also instrumental for Lyceum by draining 16 points spiked by three tiples, and collaring seven boards, while Simon Penafiel and Renz Villegas chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively.

It was another heartbreak game for Arellano, which absorbed its fourth straight loss in as many outings.

Maverick Vinoya tried to steer the Chiefs to the winning column with a career-high 22 points, while Jeadan Ongotan had a double-double performance of 13 points and 11 rebounds, but their efforts went futile.
