The Manila City Jail Male Dormitory has conducted misting and fumigation operation to protect persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) from dengue.

In a statement the Manila City Jail said it was done with the assistance of the Manila Health Department.

“With the safety of both persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) and personnel in mind, the operation aimed to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds and prevent potential outbreaks,’’ the statement read.

The Manila City Jail Male Dormitory also delivered 1,500 “Pandelino’’ bread packs for the “Kalinga Sa Maynila Program’’ in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

The bread was distributed to residents of Barangays 354, 357, and 358 as part of the initiative led by Manila mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan.

It said “The Kalinga Sa Maynila’’ program not only supports the city's residents but also helps the jail facility’s livelihood program through the purchase of the bread produced by its PDLs.
