Modern slot machines coming to Casino Filipino—Pagcor

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) is stepping up its game with an upgrade to its Casino Filipino venues to attract more players and boost revenue.

In a statement, Alejandro H. Tengco, Pagcor chairman and chief executive officer, said that 1,968 units of the 3,341 new slot machines they ordered will be delivered by mid-September

Tengco said the new machines would enhance the gaming offerings at Casino Filipino branches nationwide, drawing in more players and driving increased revenue.

“As we prepare for the planned privatization of Pagcor casinos, we intend to increase their value by modernizing our gaming facilities and equipment to make them more attractive to potential investors,” Tengco said.

According to Pagcor, the new slot machines are comparable in quality and features to those found in the country's top integrated resort casinos.

The arrival of new slot machines comes as Pagcor prepares to transition from a dual role as both operator and regulator to a purely regulatory function.

Tengco said in July that the privatization of government-operated casinos is set to begin earlier than anticipated, with a target start date in May 2025.

All 45 properties under the Casino Filipino brand are included in the sale.

Despite the privatization plan, Tengco said Pagcor still expects an increase in revenue from its government-run casinos this year.
