Imee blasts impeachment rumors vs VP Duterte

Senator Imee Marcos slammed alleged discussions regarding a brewing plan to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte.

In a statement on Monday, Sept. 9, Marcos, without dropping any names, addressed members of the Congress who are eager to file an impeachment case against Duterte.

May this serve as a reminder that you're toying with democracy)," she said.

These steps are a disrespect to the country's choice and the election's results; a disregard to the voice and rights of the people to choose their leader)," she added.

Marcos reminded that Duterte's win with 32 million votes during the May 2022 polls is one of the biggest in history.

(Are you challenging the 32 million? Or do you just want to create a fiasco to divide the country--that's currently facing too many problems?)" she added.

Duterte bared that lawmakers in the House of Representatives are openly discussing plans to impeach her because they want to take down the Duterte family.

House Assistant Minority Leader ACT-Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro said that Duterte's misuse of millions worth of confidential funds in December 2022 is a ground for impeachment.
