Celebrating real estate excellence at the 12th PropertyGuru PH awards

The 12th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards showcases the remarkable growth and quality of the real estate market in the Philippines, with over 83 categories recognizing excellence in development, design, and more. This year's entries reflect the dynamic and evolving nature of the Philippine property market. 

Jules Kay, general manager of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, welcomed a distinguished gathering of industry leaders and visionaries at Shangri-La The Fort, Manila on September 6. "I am in awe of the quality, innovations, and impressive commitment that real estate developers in the Philippines have toward growing their market and delivering the best for their customers," Kay said.

"The properties in the shortlist this evening certainly reflect that ever-increasing choice and quality in Philippine real estate, and that's why the market here keeps growing. In partnership with this market growth, these awards keep growing," he added.

Cyndy Jarabata, chairperson of the independent judging panel and President of TAJARA Leisure and Hospitality Group Inc., said, "We are here to celebrate and set benchmarks for excellence in real estate development and design. As chairperson, I am dedicated to upholding the highest standards of selection in this program. These awards validate your hard work with honor and integrity."

"While we may be competitors tonight, we are stronger together as Filipinos, united by our communities, sacrifices, commitments, and dreams," she added.

The diverse panel of judges mirrors the competition's breadth. Judges include Carlo Cordaro, president and CEO of Atelier A; Carlo Rufino, co-managing director of NEO; Jaime A. Cura, Ph.D., vice-chairman of RGV Group of Companies; Jean Jacquelyn Nathania A. de Castro, CEO of ESCA Incorporated; Kathleen P. Obcemea, principal interior designer at KPO Beyond Designs Co.; Luis Enrique T. Mangosing, CEO of Metro Development Managers, Inc. (MDMI); Michelle Barretto, founder and CEO of Vitamin B, Inc.; Philip Mareschal, head of property and asset management at JLL Philippines; and Richard Raymundo, managing director at Colliers Philippines.

Winning streak

From luxury condos to affordable homes, the award-winning developments at PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards 2024 emphasize integrated communities and sustainability for every Filipino.

Robinsons Land was named Best Developer in the country and Best Developer (Luzon). This marks the Gokongwei-led company as a three-time Best Developer awardee in the Philippines. Also, RLC Residences, a subsidiary of Robinsons Land, won Best Branded Residential Development, Best Wellness Residential Development, and Best Lifestyle Condo Development.

Jericho P. Go, senior vice president and business unit general manager at Robinsons Land, expressed gratitude, saying, "We would like to thank PropertyGuru for this tremendous recognition. With all the fabulous men and women in this organization, all of us are committed to serving our fellow men. But most importantly, to glorify God in all the work that we do.”

Special awards recognized notable industry figures: Manuel V. Pangilinan of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation received the Philippines Real Estate Personality of the Year award, and Mariana Beatriz Zobel de Ayala of Ayala Land, Inc. earned the Rising Star award.

This year, PropertyGuru introduced new honors under the ESG Developer Awards. Alveo Land received the first-ever Social Impact Award, while PrimaryHomes, Inc. earned the Sustainable Construction Award. Megaworld Corporation, the most awarded company of the year, won both the inaugural Sustainable Design Award and the Energy Efficiency Award.

Megaworld Corporation also won Best Developer (Visayas), Best Mixed-Use Developer, and Best Hospitality Developer, among other accolades. Notably, in 2018, Megaworld was the first to win the Best Developer award for three consecutive years.

Federal Land, Inc. was named Best Luxury Developer, and its affiliate, Federal Land NRE Global, Inc., earned Best Breakthrough Developer. Federal Land also secured Best Township Development, Best Township Masterplan Design, and Best Subdivision Development.

SM Development Corporation (SMDC) and Federal Land’s joint venture project won Best Condo Development (Philippines) and Best Ultra-Luxury Condo Development (Metro Manila). SMDC also earned accolades for Best Housing Development (Luzon) and Best Affordable Economic Housing Development.

Ayala Land, Inc. won Best Sustainable Developer and Best CBD Development. Its subsidiary, Alveo Land, received awards for Best High-End Condo Development in both Metro Manila and Metro Cebu.

Other notable winners included Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates, Torre Lorenzo Development Corporation, Brittany Hotels, Hausland Development Corporation, Landco Pacific Corporation, Science Park of the Philippines, Inc., Primehomes Real Estate Development, Bluerise Holdings Ent. Corp., PH1 World Developers, I-Land, Inc., Alsons Development and Investment Corporation, and D.M. Wenceslao and Associates, Inc., among others.

Winners from the Philippines will advance to the 19th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final in Bangkok on December 13, 2024.
