As nations mark International Day of Charity on Thursday, Sept. 5, Fr. Pascal urged the public to do charity work and extend help to those in need particularly calamity victims.

“We are grateful that the United Nations declared this day as International Day of Charity to remind us of the importance of doing charity work, of sharing our time, talents and blessings with others. And since our country is prone to calamities, both natural and man made, we must be ready to help calamity survivors,” said the Church leader who also serves as president of Church run Radio Veritas.

Fr. Pascual enjoined the public to extend assistance to the needy through charity organizations like Caritas Manila.

“May the International Day of Charity inspire everyone to get out of their comfort zones, to share, get involved and be compassionate with your neighbors like true Christians,” Fr. Pascual said over Radio Veritas.

Caritas Manila continues to strengthen its Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program that provides scholarships to poor but deserving students as well as its disaster, livelihood and feeding programs.
