La Mesa dam overflows as rains continue—Manila Water

Manila Water reported on Wednesday morning, Sept. 4, that La Mesa Dam had breached its spilling level due to recent rainfall, warning of possible flooding in nearby communities.

In an advisory, the East Zone concessionaire announced that La Mesa Dam in Quezon City is at full capacity and has exceeded the spilling level of 80.15 meters.

“Water from succeeding rains will flow out through Tullahan River,” Manila Water said.

“Adjacent communities are advised to coordinate with their respective barangays for possible evacuation for safety,” it added.

Data from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration showed that the water level at La Mesa Dam reached 80.20 meters as of 8:00 AM on Wednesday.
