Trailing 21-23, Ces Molina and MJ Perez took matters into their own hands and drilled in the next four points en route to the podium finish.

This was the fifth time that Cignal claimed the bronze medal in league history, with the last time in the Second All-Filipino Conference late last year.

Perez unleashed 26 points highlighted by 22 kills, including the single block on Elena Samoilenko and the down-the-line spike that sealed the win for the HD Spikers.

She also upstaged Samoilenko’s 35-point production, dashing the High Speed Hitters’ hopes of a podium finish after protesting their controversial semifinal loss to the Akari Chargers and getting turned down.

Molina also provided ample support throughout the two-hour, seven-minute match by pumping in 20 points including the pivotal spike that set the tone for the HD Spikers’ 4-0 run for the win.

Credit was also given to Gel Cayuna, who distributed 16 excellent sets on top of eight points.
