The DFA said on Sunday, Sept. 1, that the Polish official will undertake an official visit to the country from Sept. 3 to 5.

His visit coincides with the ongoing celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Poland.

The DFA added that it marks the first standalone visit to the Philippines by a Polish Foreign Minister.

Minister Sikorski previously visited the Philippines in 2006 in his capacity as Defense Minister.

According to the Foreign Affairs department, the visit to the Philippines is part of the Polish Foreign Minister’s official travel to Southeast Asia.

Sikorski is expected to meet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique Manalo to discuss ways to further strengthen Philippines-Poland relations and exchange views on regional and international issues.

He will also meet with other high-level officials of the Philippine government.
