The two-time Olympian banked on a solid front nine where she carded five birdies then followed it up with another birdie on No. 10 for a two-round total of 137, six strokes behind South Korean solo leader Ryu Haeran.

She propelled from joint 17th after shooting a 71 in the opening round and now tied with Noh Yealimi and Robyn Choi.

Ryu, meanwhile, shot an impressive 10-under-62 for the lead where she had a run of four straight birdies on the front nine and the back nine with the course's small targets and firm greens.

Marina Alex, who had the first-round lead with a bogey-free 68, followed that with a 72 that left her nine shots behind.

Meanwhile, fellow Olympian Dottie Ardina posted an even-par 72 for 145 at joint 52nd and made the cut.

Ardina, who stumbled with a first-round 73, fumbled with two bogeys on the front nine but managed to recover with birdies on Nos. 12 and 18.

The FM Championship is in its first year, and the company already raised the prize money to $3.8 million from when it first announced it would sponsor the LPGA event. FM also has offered free lodging to the players and is giving a $1,000 stipend to anyone missing the cut.
