Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan proudly announced that the Sta. Ana Hospital (SAH) headed by its director, Dr. Grace Padilla, is now accredited as a Level 3 Service Capability Hospital by the Department of Health (DOH).

On Saturday, August 10, Lacuna-Pangan said SAH has added another recognition to its ever-growing list of accomplishments which reflects the hospital’s unwavering commitment to providing high-quality healthcare to the residents of Manila.

She congratulated, commended and thanked Padilla as well as the entire staff of the SAH for their efforts to make a significant milestone in the hospital's journey of continued excellence and service to the community.

"Congratulations to Sta. Ana Hospital on this well-deserved recognition. We look forward to witnessing the continued success and positive impact that this esteemed institution will undoubtedly bring to the community it so diligently serves," the mayor said.

"With its new level status, the SAH is expected to continually grow and expand its services and as such, we are highly confident that it will remain a beacon of excellence in healthcare, providing top-tier medical services to the people of Manila," the mayor added.

Meanwhile, Padilla said the landmark achievement reflects the collective efforts of  the SAH's administration, healthcare providers, and support staff.

"This accomplishment would not have been possible without the visionary leadership of the City Government of Manila under Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan and the unwavering support of the Department of Health. It is also a recognition of the trust and confidence that the community places in Sta. Ana Hospital, a trust that the hospital has earned through years of dedicated service," Padilla said.

"This Level 3 accreditation marks not just an endpoint but a new beginning in Sta. Ana Hospital’s journey to further elevate its standards, enhance its service offerings and ensure that every patient receives the highest quality of care," the lady doctor added.

Established in 2010, the SAH has steadily grown to become the second largest healthcare facility owned and operated by the city government of Manila.

As an ISO 9001:2015 certified hospital with a 300-bed capacity, it has consistently delivered comprehensive and compassionate care, through its  dedicated team of skilled doctors, nurses and healthcare practitioners.

Padilla noted that the upgrade to a Level 3 hospital signifies that the SAH now offers a broader range of specialized medical services, advanced diagnostic and treatment options and enhanced patient care facilities.

Padilla said the new accreditation is particularly noteworthy as it reflects the hospital's readiness and capacity to handle more complex medical cases, ensuring that the residents of Manila have access to the best possible care without the need to travel far from their homes.

The hospital's License to Operate issued by the DOH's Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau highlights its expanded service offerings and specialized diagnostic services like Level 3 Diagnostic X-ray Services and Computed Tomography (CT) scans, anatomic pathology (cytology and surgical), rHIVda confirmatory laboratory, and a dialysis clinic with six stations.

The hospital also houses an authorized blood bank with additional capabilities to collect, test and process blood, further enhancing its ability to meet the diverse healthcare needs of the community.

Sta. Ana Hospital is well-known for its extensive outpatient departments across all major specialties, catering to non-emergency concerns and providing free ancillary services, including laboratory and diagnostic services for Manila residents and senior citizens.

The hospital's ability to offer such comprehensive care, coupled with its partnerships with other city hospitals both public and private, ensures that patients receive a continuum of care even for services not directly available within its premises.

The recognition as a Level 3 facility also underscores Sta. Ana Hospital’s critical role in managing public health challenges, including its robust response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Equipped with isolation units and staffed by a healthcare team trained in contamination control, the hospital has been at the forefront of the city's efforts to curb the spread of infectious diseases. The continuous training of its healthcare professionals, in collaboration with the DOH and the Manila City local government unit, exemplifies Sta. Ana Hospital’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care," Padilla assures.

In achieving Level 3 accreditation, the mayor said, this success is a testament to its continuous efforts in enhancing its services, expanding its capabilities and adhering to the highest standards of healthcare.
