8 wanted persons caught in Surigao del Norte


BUTUAN CITY – Police on Sunday disclosed the arrest of eight wanted persons in Surigao del Norte.

Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO) Director Police Col. Laudemer M. Laude said the suspects were a 38-year-old male from Surigao City for murder; a 26-year-old and 29-year-old male from Lanao del Norte and Claveria, Misamis Oriental, respectively, for qualified trespass to dwelling; an elderly male for perjury; a 21-year-old  from Surigao City for qualified theft; a 59-year-old from Dapa town for theft; a 57-year-old from Malimono town for illegal logging, and a 44-year-old male from Santiago, Agusan del Norte, for violating the Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) law.

Laude said their warrants of arrests were issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) of the 10th Judicial Region, Branches 29 and 30 in Surigao City; the Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) of the 6th Judicial Region in Dapa-Socorro, and the Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC), Branch 1, in Surigao City.

Police Regional Office-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Alan M. Nazarro lauded the arrest of the suspects.

"I commend all operating units of the Surigao del Norte police for their exceptional dedication and professionalism in carrying out this successful operation,” said Laude.

“Let us stay vigilant and proactive in reporting any suspicious activities, ensuring our community remains a place where the rule of law prevails." 

PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said the suspects are in the custody of apprehending units.
