“Yes. When I talked to FPRRD’s group, they said they were preparing for him to run. When I also spoke to my older brother, Pulong, he said he is ready to run for senator,” Vice President Duterte said in an interview after the Pasidungog in Cebu City.

The Vice President also said she received the same response when she talked to people around her young brother, Baste. She added that Baste’s supporters were prepared and had been preparing for him to run for senator.

Vice President Duterte said had no idea about the senatorial lineup of the three Dutertes.

For FPRRD, she said that it would most likely include senators from the PDP-Laban since he is a member.

Vice President Duterte said that she is not part of the PDP-Laban and not a member of any national political party because she is with the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) and the Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod (HTL) here.

She last week revealed the plans of her father  and two brothers in the election. She said that Mayor Duterte would run for president in 2028 according to their mother, Elizabeth Zimmerman.

Former President Duterte and Rep. Duterte have consistently ranked within the Top 12 in senatorial preferential surveys. The Davao City mayor has been the most outspoken of the three siblings about the Marcos administration.

Former President Duterte was also in Cebu City and was in the same hotel on Saturday as the Vice President. She, however, said that they did not meet and has no idea what her father’s purpose was in the city.

“I heard that he (FPRRD) is in Cebu City and also in the hotel, but we did not arrange to meet. The plan for the Pasidungog has been in the works for a while, and we have sent our invitations for a long time,” Vice President Duterte said, adding that she will return to Manila after the event.

There are discussions if Vice President Duterte will seek the presidency in the upcoming elections. Numerous individuals and groups, particularly residents of Davao City, are hoping that she will run for president.
