Pasig LGU issues traffic advisory for Pride March 2024 on June 30


The Pasig City local government has advised motorists to plan their trips ahead due to potential traffic slowdown on certain roads in the city during the Pride March on Sunday, June 30.

The city government also announced that road closures will be implemented portion by portion as the activity will affect the traffic flow in the following areas from 3 p.m. onwards: 

 

  • C-5 Road (Northbound, from Arcovia to Eagle Street)
  • Eagle Street
  • Dr. Sixto Antonio Avenue
  • Rotonda Junction 
  • A. Mabini Street (Barangay Kapasigan) 
  • Plaza Rizal Intersection 
  • Caruncho Avenue (both directions, in front of Pasig City Hall)
  • F. Manalo Street (in front of Pasig City Hall) 

 

 

It also added that a two-way traffic scheme will be temporarily implemented on Caruncho Avenue (the road beside sports center and 747 Lumber - from road 2 to F. Manalo Street).

 

Motorists are advised to take the following alternate routes:

All vehicles from C-5 Road going to Rotonda via Vargas Bridge shall take Eagle Street or Ortigas Avenue Extension to the point of destination, while all vehicles from C-5 Road (via Eagle Street) going to Dr. Sixto Antonio Avenue shall take Ortigas Avenue Extension to the point of destination.

Motorists from Ortigas Avenue going to Dr. Sixto Antonio Avenue shall take C. Raymundo Avenue to the point of destination.

Motorists from Rotonda going to Mega Market shall take C. Raymundo Avenue, turn right to Mercedes Avenue, then right to Market Avenue to the point of destination; or take C-5 Road, then left to M. Flores Street, turn right to Pvt. Aurellana Street, left to Intalan Street to cross Sta. Rosa Bridge, then straight to Dr. Garcia Street, turn left to R. Jabson Street, right to G. Raymundo Street, then left to F. Manalo Street, and right to Caruncho Avenue to the point of destination.

Travellers from Mega Market going to Quiapo or crossing shall take Market Avenue, then left to Mercedes Avenue, left to C. Raymundo Avenue to the point of destination; or take Balderrama Street, then right to F. Antonio Street, straight to G. Raymundo Street, right to R. Jabson Street, left to P. Burgos Street, left to Lopez Jaena Street, left to Dr. Garcia Street, right to R. Jabson Street, then cross Bambang Bridge to the point of destination.

Others who will come from Mega Market going to Eastern Rizal shall take F. Manalo Street, turn right to V. Baltazar Street, then turn left to Market Avenue to the point of destination.

For those who will come from San Joaquin or Pateros and are planning to go to Mega Market, take G. Raymundo Street, turn left to F. Manalo Street, then right to Caruncho Avenue to the point of destination; or take Elisco Road, turn left to M. Jimenez Street to cross Kalawaan Bridge, turn left to F. Antonio Street, turn right to F. Manalo Street, then turn right to Caruncho Avenue to the destination.

For people who will travel from Mega Market to San Joaquin or Pateros, take Balderrama Street, turn right to F. Antonio Street, straight to G. Raymundo Street, turn right to R. Jabson Street, left to P. Burgos Street, left to Lopez Jaena Street, left to Dr. Garcia Street, right to R. Jabson Street to cross Bambang Bridge to the destination; or take Road 2, then turn right to Caruncho Avenue, left to F. Manalo Street, left to F. Antonio Street, right to Pio Alvarez Street, then turn right to Elisco Road to the destination.

Lastly, motorists from San Joaquin or Pateros who are planning to go to Rotonda shall take R. Jabson Street, turn left to P. Burgos Street, left to Lopez Jaena Street to cross Sta. Rosa Bridge to the destination, while vehicles from San Joaquin going to Marikina shall take Elisco Road, then turn left to M. Jimenez Street, to cross the Kalawaan Bridge, left to F. Antonio Street, right to F. Manalo Street, right to Caruncho Avenue, then left to Market Avenue to the point of destination.

The city government said that the activity aims to celebrate the people of diverse SOGIESC (sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics) and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) communities, as well as to honor the progress made towards equality and inclusion.

“Whether you're part of the LGBTQIA+ community or an ally, let's continue to support and uplift one another, advocating for a world where everyone can live authentically and freely,” it stated.
