Actress-entrepreneur Ara Mina finally broke her silence on a viral Facebook post that dragged her name in a gadget use incident while the musical "One More Chance" was ongoing at the PETA Theater in Quezon City last week.

Ara lamented that people "were quick to judge" and the issue was "blown out of proportion."

Ara said she did not know the girl who was seated in front of them in the theater who opened her laptop while the show was going on. "Sa picture, parang sa amin yung laptop. Grabe, no? Kaya dapat wag basta-basta magja-judge. Ako, hindi na ako sumagot kasi I'm kinda busy. I just came from Zamboanga, Leyte recently para magpa-interview pa ako. Sabi ko, darating din naman yung time na ma-interview nyo ako, eh di sasagutin ko."

The actress clarified that she only used her phone during the show to check for any new message from her husband, Dave Almarinez who was supposed to follow her to the theater.

Her companion also used her phone for a bit but immediately closed her screen when she was told by their seatmate to "lower your brightness."

"Normal lang na sisilipin mo (phone), syempre. Baka sabihin ng asawa ko, ba't hindi ako sumasagot. Paano pag may emergency ka? Sisilip ka ng phone. Kahit ako rin naman, lalabas na lang ako, kung magpo-phone ako the entire play," Ara commented.

She revealed that they were, in fact, seated in the wrong area because she bought tickets which would have placed them in, or near, the front row.

"Ang last kong tuntong sa PETA, Rock of Ages of pa. Excited na nga akong manood tapos ganun ang nangyari," Ara said.

"Kami nga ang nawalan ng seats pero hindi ako nagreklamo because I understand the production, I respect the co- actors. Actually, nanood ako to support out friend si Jay Gonzaga. Kasi kasama namin sya sa (Ang) Probinsyano," she added.

Ara gave her side of the story during a media conference announcing her 30th anniversary concert which will be held on July 11 (Thursday) at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.

The actress said her coming performance is a "showcase" of her three decades in showbiz where she not only garnered acting awards but also had hit songs "Ay, Ay, Ay Pagibig," "Oops, Teka Lang" and her own rendition of "Kung Kailangan Mo Ako."

Her special guests will be her half-sister Christine Reyes, Martin Nievera and Ogie Alcasid, among  others.
