PAGASA said a heat index of 45°C was felt in Catarman, Northern Samar, followed by a heat index of 44°C in Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) Pili, Camarines Sur, and in Aparri, Cagayan.

It also recorded a heat index of 43°C in Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur, and a heat index of 42°C in Daet, Camarines Norte.

The weather bureau said areas with heat indices of 42-51°C are under “danger” level, which means that heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible, while continuing activity may lead to heat stroke.

Meanwhile, most areas in the country remained under “extreme caution” level or a heat index of 33-41°C.
