Senator Christopher “Bong” Go shared on a Facebook post that former president Rodrigo Duterte traveled from Davao City just to attend the birthday celebration of the latter's daughter.

“Lumipad pa mula Davao City si dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte para personal na batiin ng maligayang kaarawan ang kanyang anak na si Kitty Duterte,” Go said in the post.

(Former president Rodrigo Duterte even flew from Davao City to personally wish his daughter Kitty Duterte a happy birthday.)

Kitty celebrated her 20th birthday on April 10.

According to the senator, Duterte and his common-law wife Honeylet Avanceña joined their child for a birthday dinner.

Go said he was also present in the celebration, and that he handed a “simple gift” to his “inaanak” (goddaughter). 

“Mula sa iyong Ninong Senator Bong Go, happy happy birthday, Kitty! Stay happy and may you have a magical day full of happy surprises!” the post read.

Go shared that Kitty’s boyfriend and former De La Salle Green Archers player, Evan Nelle, was also present at the dinner.

The senator is a longtime friend of the elder Duterte. He previously served as Special Assistant to the President and head of the Presidential Management Staff during the Duterte administration.

Duterte served as Philippine president from 2016 to 2022.
