Pasay LGU shares tips to avoid heat-related illnesses


The local government of Pasay City issued an advisory on how to beat the heat and prevent heat-related illnesses.

According to the Facebook page of Pasay Public Information Office (PIO), PAGASA-DOST forecast a heat index of 42 degrees Celsius in the city on Tuesday, April 23, that will continue up to Wednesday, April 24.

But based on the actual monitoring of PAGASA-DOST, the heat index in the city reached 45 degrees Celsius at around 3:01 p.m. on April 23.

Mayor Emi Calixto-RubianoRubiano advised the teams from the Pasay City General Hospital (PCGH) and the City Health Office (CHO) to be on alert to respond immediately to emergency cases brought by the dangerous heat.

Residents who may need immediate help can call PCGH Emergency Room at 8551-0121 and CHO at 8551-2026.

She also told residents to visit the Pasay PIO Facebook page to know the "Beat the Heat Tips" to avoid heat-related health problems.

The mayor also suspends face-to-face classes both in public and private schools on April 23 to 24.
