Cebu remains 'as united as it can be' —Frasco

Despite the resignation of Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia from the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), Cebu is still "as united as it can be," Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco said.

Frasco said the exit of her mother in the former ruling party will not affect their local political party.

"One Cebu is the party of Governor Gwen and that's also the party that I belong to, and as far as I know Cebu is as united as it can be," she said in an interview on the sidelines of the Philippine Business Forum in Brunei on May 29.

Frasco also belongs to One Cebu, a provincial political party based in Cebu and is chaired by Garcia.

Garcia has been a member of the PDP-Laban since 2016. PDP-Laban is led by former president Rodrigo Duterte.
