The facility was opened by DFA Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs Adelio Angelito Cruz.

Cruz, who inspected the center’s equipment, said it will save time and money for applicants.

Applicants who need documents to be authenticated no longer need to come to the Manila DFA office and the increasing demand prompted the DFA to open the center, Cruz said.

Cruz was assisted by DFA-Lucena consular office head Maria Criselda Abril, Maria Roceo Rito, Pacific Mall Corp. general manager, city officials, and DFA consular officers.

This DFA consular office also processes passports for people in Region 4-A or the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon area and Region 4-B or the Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan area.
