Police Lt. Col. Lester Leada, head of the Operations Management Unit of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said they started their skeletal deployment on Thursday, May 23, prior to the official kick-off of the festival on Friday, May 24.

With the theme “Inasal Global,” this year’s festival envisions the savory Chicken inasal to be world-class.

With a vision to create platforms and portals for both global and national audiences, the festival is poised to celebrate Bacolod's rich culinary heritage and vibrant culture like never before.

The three-day event will be held at SM City Bacolod, Ayala Malls Capitol Central, North Capitol Road, and Megaworld Upper East.

Road closures have been implemented at the North Capitol Road (from Lacson St. to Aguinaldo St.) from 9 p.m. on May 22 to 11 a.m. on May 27 and Manokan Country (Ferrero St.) in Barangay 12 from 11 p.m. on May 22 to 11 a.m. on May 27.

Some of the activities include food tasting and beer pairing, Barangay Inasal Cook-Off and Workshops, Bacolod Chicken Inasal Awards, The Dance Challenge and Modern Movement Competition, and The Chicken Inasal Global Beats Competition (Street Dance).

A total of 10 barangays here will join the Chicken Inasal Festival street-dance competition.

Last year, the city showcased its 320-meter long chicken grilling at Megaworld’s Upper East where 70 concessionaires grilled 3,000 chicken inasal in an attempt to set a record for the world’s longest chicken grilling event.

This year, this city will not hold the longest chicken grill but only a ceremonial chicken grilling.

This city first celebrated the Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival in 2018.
