Man who shoplifted lipstick, deodorant, cologne arrested in Manila

A shoplifter who was caught stealing personal care products from a convenience store in Sampaloc, Manila, was arrested on Thursday, May 9.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as Lean Pamilian, 33, resident of Sampaloc, Manila.

According to the police report, the incident happened at around 3 p.m. inside a convenience store at Silk Branch Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard corner Santol Street, Sampaloc, Manila.

Police said the suspect posed as a customer and asked for the prices of various personal care products at the counter.

The store's customers became suspicious when they noticed a lump on the suspect's waist and pocket. 

The cashier sought assistance from the security guard of Silk Residence to report the incident to authorities without the suspect's knowledge that he was under surveillance. 

When the suspect proceeded to the exit door without paying for the items, he was was apprehended by the security guard.

The suspect admitted that he stole the items after he was asked for the receipt of the items inside his t-shirt and pocket. 

Recovered from the suspect were a body spray cologne, deodorant, two pieces of lip balms, and two lipsticks.

Police said the recovered items were worth more or less P600.

 The suspect was brought to the MPD Sampaloc police station for investigation and will face theft charges.
