DOH warns public on ‘fake’ social media post offering free medical insurance


The Department of Health (DOH) warned the public on Thursday, April 18, regarding a misleading social media post offering free medical insurance.

It said the circulating post is “false and deceptive.”

The DOH also highlighted that the social media page promoting free medical insurance is “fake,” along with any associated affiliate links or content.

The department urged the public to remain vigilant against such deceptive schemes and to refrain from engaging with any posts or links claiming affiliation with the DOH.

Moreover, the DOH underscored the gravity of the situation by highlighting that continued dissemination of such misleading information may result in criminal charges against those responsible.

It reiterated its call for the public to rely solely on credible and verified sources for information, emphasizing official channels such as the department's website and authorized social media accounts.
