The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Thursday, April 18, said 1,906 out of 3,434 examinees, or 55.5 percent, passed the April 2024 Physician Licensure Exam (PLE).

Christopher Ñiño Duane Camay Mendoza of Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine, Inc. was the top scorer in the April 2024 PLE with an average of 89.25 percent.
The April 2024 PLE was administered by the Board of Medicine, headed by Dr. Zenaida L. Antonio and members Dr. Godofreda V. Dalmacion, Dr. Eleanor B. Almoro, Dr. Martha O. Nucum, Dr. Efren C. Laxamana and Dr. Joanna V. Remo.
The examination was held from April 7 to 8 and April 14 to15 in Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
Top performing schools
Based on the Commission Resolution No. 2017-1058 (C) series of 2017, the top-performing schools in the April 2024 PLE are the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMCI) and the University of Santo Tomas (UST).
UERMMMCI achieved a passing percentage of 89.23 percent, with 58 out of 65 examinees from the university passing the PLE.
Meanwhile, UST achieved a passing percentage of 84.85 percent, with 56 out of 66 takers who graduated from the educational institution passing the PLE.

Oathtaking
Successful examinees interested in participating in the face-to-face mass oath-taking must register no later than noon on the day preceding the scheduled oath-taking date. Register at http://online.prc.gov.ph to confirm attendance.
For those unable to attend the mass oath-taking, the option to join the virtual oath-taking or request a special oath-taking is available. The schedule will be posted on the official website once confirmed.
To schedule an online appointment at http://online.prc.gov.ph, choose "e-OATH" as the transaction.
Online registration will close five calendar days before the online oath-taking day.
Furthermore, inductees must print the "Oath of Professional" form, downloadable from the PRC official website under PRC Online Services.
After the oath-taking, inductees should proceed with the Initial Registration by securing an online appointment at http://online.prc.gov.ph.
October 2023 PLE result
The result for the April 2024 PLE is slightly lower compared to the previous PLE in October 2023.
PRC cited a passing percentage of 63.24 percent in October 2023, with 4,083 out of 6,456 successfully passing, while for April 2024, the passing average is 55.5 percent.
