For being named overall champion in the recently concluded Region 4-A Calabarzon 2024 Regional Athletic Association Meet (RAAM), young athletes from various public schools in the Art Capital of the Country were recognized by the municipal government.
Members of the Angono Giants Football Team (AGFT) met Angono, Rizal Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon during a meet and greet occasion at the municipal hall on Tuesday, April 16, after bringing home the athletic championship in the regional sports meet among public school students.

The elementary team of the AGFT will represent the entire Calabarzon in the national meet for student athletes - the Palarong Pambansa 2024 - in Cebu City in July.
Mayor Calderon also congratulated the head coach, Mark Santiago, and assistant coach, Melchor James Cada, both active members of the Angono Football Club.
The student footballers are learners at San Vicente Elementary School.
Aside from the football team members, Calderon also lauded the athletic achievers in the field of swimming, aerogymnastics and wushu, who all represented Angono and the entire Rizal Province in the athletic competition among young players from various towns and cities in Region 4-A.
Some of the roster of medalists from Angono came from Angono National High School, who were also lauded by the municipal government and Vice Mayor Gerardo Calderon, for their recent achievements.

The Rizal Team was the overall champion in the Calabarzon RAAM 2024, bagging a total of 113 gold, 90 silver, and 60 bronze medals.
