Last March 23, the China Coast Guard attacked and fired water cannon at the Philippine supply vessel going to the Ayungin Shoal for a rotation and resupply mission, the  Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said.

The attack injured Philippine Navy personnel.

The Philippines' condemnation of the attacks of China in the West Philippine Sea gained support from others countries including the US, members of the European Union, South Korea, and Hungary.

Biazon described China’s attack as an “act of war,” saying the only missing were bullets.

“The only element missing to make this an act of war are bullets. Even though they used water, they attacked Philippine soldiers, wounded them, damaged their boats, all within the internationally recognized Philippine EEZ [exclusive economic zone]. The Chinese Diplomatic officials are nothing but propagandists,” said Biazon referring to an article published by China’s Global Times.

The Global Times article stated that “Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong and the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines on Monday lodged representations with the Philippines over the recent illegal trespassing by Philippine resupply vessels into waters adjacent to Ren'ai Jiao in the #SouthChinaSea.”

Biazon also called China’s diplomatic officials as propagandists over China’s demand for countries to follow the UN Security Council resolution demanding Gaza cease-fire.

“Hypocrites. They demand parties to fulfill obligations under the UN Charter yet they practically ignore UNCLOS [United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea]. which they signed and ratified, continually violating Philippine rights under that convention and even inflict harm on Filipinos w/in their own EEZ,” said Biazon.
