A total of 143 children were baptized during the Parañaque
city government’s “Binyagang Bayan” (free baptism) program last Saturday, March 23.

Parañaque Mayor Eric Olivarez and wife Aileen Claire Olivarez served as the principal sponsors at the “Binyagang Bayan” held Our Lady of Airways in Pasay City.

According to Olivarez, the city government’s offers free baptism to help families who cannot afford the traditional baptismal ceremony.

Olivarez said the city government offers free baptism thrice a year held every March, July and November.

He said the children were given financial incentives, food packs from the city government and souvenir from Special Services Office and the Local Civil Registry.

The mayor said the program is also part of the city government’s commitment to bringing Parañaquenos closer to God.

Olivarez welcomed the newly baptized children from the city’s District 1 and 2 to Christian world.
