Speaker’s office, Tingog Party-list spearhead cash aid for women in Gingoog City

In celebration of International Women’s Month, the offices of House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez led on Thursday, March 21, the distribution of cash assistance to women in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.

A total of 3,000 women beneficiaries received P5,000 each from the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) during a payout ceremony at the Gingoog City Comprehensive National High School.

Representing the Speaker at the event was House Deputy Secretary-General Sofonias Gabonada Jr.,who gave an inspirational message during the Paglaum Women’s Congress event.

"Walang kamatayan ang ating pagmamahal sa ating mga nanay," said Gabonada in a speech.

Over 856 Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Training for Work Scholarship (TWS) students also received P3,000 cash assistance each.

Gingoog Mayor Erick Cañosa expressed his gratitude to the Romualdez couple for their “unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of the Filipino people whichever province they may be”.

The Speaker’s office said the cash aid distribution was conducted in celebration of the “tireless efforts and unconditional love” of the women in every Filipino family.
