The Provincial Government of Bulacan, in partnership with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth),  kicked off the Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (KonSulTa) Caravan in Bulacan at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in the City of Malolos on March 16, aiming to provide top-notch primary healthcare services to Bulakenyos under the Universal Health Care law.

KonSulTa Program is a game-changer, offering a range of free healthcare services at the primary care leve,l including free medical consultation, selected laboratory and diagnostic tests, health risk screening and assessment, and selected drugs and medicines from an accredited PhilHealth KonSulTa provider.

PhilHealth Luzon Vice President Walter R. Bacareza said that PhilHealth will also cover financial assistance to ensure that individuals can have access to comprehensive healthcare services, addressing both immediate medical needs and financial concerns that further demonstrates its commitment to improving the overall health and well-being of the community.

"We are investing in primary care so that we don't have to spend high expenditures on curative care. Ito ang gusto nating i-promote ngayon. (This is what we want to promote now). And of course, PhilHealth will provide the financial support para po sa layunin na ito," (for this objective)," Bacareza said.

In order to avail of the services, a PhilHealth member should be registered with a Philhealth KonSulTa provider.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando stressed the vital role of Barangay Health Workers in educating Bulakenyos in the communities since they are seen as crucial intermediaries who engage with community members seeking assistance.

"Kayo ang katuwang ng mga RHU sa ating mga primary care facilities. Kayo ang humaharap sa ating mga kababayan na nangangailangan ng tulong upang ipamahagi ang Philhealth KonSulTa, marami pa kasi ang hindi nakakaalam ng programang ito. Kaya kayo naririto dahil kayo ang magpapalaganap at magiging ehemplo ng programang ito. Let us spread the goodnews," (You are the partner of the RHUs in our primary care facilities. You are the ones who face our people in informing them of the PhilHealth KonSulta, because there are still many who do not know about this program. That's why you are here because you will spread the good news about this program)," the governor said.

The Bulacan KonSulTa Caravan kick-off was attended by Vice Gov. Alexis C. Castro, Central Luzon Center for Health Development Regional Director Dr. Corazon I. Flores, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation Region 3 Acting Branch Manager Arlan M. Granali, PhilHealth Luzon Vice President Walter R. Bacareza and 726 BHW from the municipalities of Bulakan, Calumpit, Hagonoy and Pulilan.
