The Las Piñas City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), in partnership with the City Health Office (CHO), conducted a screening and annual medical checkup for the “Kaagpay sa Kalinisan” senior citizens on March 12.

According to Las Piñas Vice-Mayor April Aguilar, the activity was held at Verdant covered court from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. as CENRO’s way of caring Kaagapay senior citizens who serve as the city’s street sweepers.

Aguilar said the Kaagapay senior citizens have been pillars of the community in keeping Las Piñas clean and green.

She said they were given assistance through healthcare lectures, complimentary medical consultations, and thorough annual medical checkups.

The vice-mayor said the initiative aims to honor their invaluable contributions and to ensure their health and wellness are prioritized.

The presence of Aguilar during the activity underscored the unwavering support of the local government for the senior citizens of Kaagapay, a legacy of compassion and community service initiated by the late Mayor Nene Aguilar.

She said the Kaagapay organization fosters a spirit of inclusivity that has significantly contributed to the city's environment preservation efforts.
