The state-of-the-art facility, located in Quezon City, aims to provide a comprehensive range of services including cancer diagnosis, treatment research, and patient support, PhilHealth said on Tuesday, March 12.

During the groundbreaking ceremony held on March 8, PhilHealth President and CEO Emmanuel R. Ledesma Jr. underscored PhilHealth's unwavering commitment to ensuring the accessibility of quality healthcare for all Filipinos.

"Once the Philippine Cancer Center becomes operational, PhilHealth will immediately work on its inclusion in the list of contracted partners so Filipinos may avail of our Z Benefit Packages," said Ledesma, emphasizing the organization's proactive stance in extending aid to those in need.

The Z Benefit Packages, celebrated as PhilHealth's flagship initiative for catastrophic illnesses, serve as a beacon of hope for countless individuals grappling with the burden of debilitating diseases.

Moreover, Ledesma shed light on the significant support extended by PhilHealth to patients battling prostate, cervical, colon, or rectum cancer and acute lymphocytic or lymphoblastic leukemia through these comprehensive packages.

Notably, PhilHealth recently announced a substantial expansion of its coverage for breast cancer, elevating the ceiling from P100,000 to P1.4 million.

It emphasized that this move underscores PhilHealth's responsiveness to evolving healthcare needs and its steadfast dedication to enhancing the welfare of cancer patients across the nation.
