LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Top officials of Department of Budget and Management regional offices convened on Friday, March 8, here for the first quarter Regional Coordination Meeting (RCM).

They convened and discussed the budget best practices and strategies, development priorities, as well as how to enhance coordination and cooperation for more efficient financial governance.
Budget Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman attended the meeting and apprised different regional offices with the latest initiatives of the agency such as the ongoing transformative reforms being implemented to improve fiscal responsibility, accountability, transparency, and good governance.
Also discussed were the full devolution effort of the national government, the national government rightsizing program (NGRP), capacity-building activities for local government units (LGUs) and local budget officers, digitalization programs, modernizing the country's procurement system, and the Philippine Open Government Partnership (PH-OGP).
The gathering also served as a forum to address current and unresolved concerns by different regional offices.
The RCM corresponds with Pangandaman's inclusive leadership which seeks to enhance the competency of public financial management (PFM) practitioners and budget officers to better fulfill the institution's mandate of ensuring the fair, prudent, and responsible allocation and utilization of public funds to enhance the quality of life for every Filipino, the DBM said.
