Police nab housemaid for death of 2 senior citizens


The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Tuesday, March 5,  arrested the housemaid allegedly responsible for the death of two senior citizens in Quezon City. 

 Chief Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) Police Maj. Don Don Llapitan identified the suspect as Marilyn Mante Pandita, 48, of Cubao, Quezon City.

Based on the police report, a witness saw smoke coming from the house of the victims prompting the witness to report the incident to the barangay.

Barangay officials sought assistance from the Quezon City Fire Department (BFP) which helped put out the fire at around 9:40 p.m. 

BFP personnel found the bodies of the victims inside their bedroom.

The suspect was brought to the barangay for documentation but managed to escape.

Authorities arrested her along 15th Avenue corner P. Tuazon Avenue, Brgy. Socorro, Quezon City.  Recovered from her were an ice pick, plane ticket, cash money, and other personal belongings. 

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team led by Capt. John Agtarap arrived at the crime scene and collected one (1) pipe wrench, one (1) dumbbell, and one (1) kitchen knife which were swabbed for the taking of DNA samples.  

The suspect will be charged with two counts of robbery with  homicide and arson before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
