Kaila Estrada reveals she is carving out her own identity

Actress Kaila Estrada is making a name for herself in showbiz, following her parents' footsteps in the industry. Her mother is Janice de Belen and her father is John Estrada.

During the contract signing with ABS-CBN on Feb. 19, Kaila shared that she consciously makes an effort to distance herself from her parents' achievements.

"I will be honest, yes there is an effort. Although I am very grateful for my parents and for what they've accomplished in the industry. And I am very proud to be their daughter," Kaila said.

The actress expressed her desire to be recognized as Kaila Estrada, independent of her parents' fame.

"There's also a part of me that wants to be... siguro recognized for what I can bring to the table, rather than be known as my parents' daughter. And I think that's fair to say, di ba?" she also said.

Kaila began modeling at 17 and picked up acting in 2020, taking Zoom workshops during the pandemic.

"I was acting through a screen, and sabi ko, imagine if this was in person, and I was already enjoying myself doing the workshops. Kaya, I told myself na I couldn't wait to be in actual set," she said.

Kaila made her debut on the TV screen in the series "Viral Scandal" where she played the role of Rave. She went all out as she played the role of Sylvia in the series "Linlang" with Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino, and JM de Guzman.

"I am just glad din na people are starting to appreciate the characters that I portrayed. And that, for me, is the biggest win already," Kaila said.

Aside from "Linlang: The Teleserye Version," Kaila also appears in the primetime series "Can't Buy Me Love."
