Parañaque's Project ERIC to ease issuance of electronic business permits, licenses

The Parañaque City government will soon launch Project Electronic Receipt for Instant and Contactless Transactions in Parañaque City (Project ERIC), another digitalization project on the issuance of electronic business permits and licenses..

Mayor Eric Olivarez Olivarez said said the various digitalization project of the city government that are being implemented by the Business Permit and Licensing Office under the supervision of Atty. Melanie Soriano-Malaya for effective collection of taxes on business permits and licenses are helping the local economy grow.

He said the city government aims to make the city business-friendly, investment-ready, and promote enabling environment for investors.

The mayor said the BPLO implemented RA 11032, the “Ease of Doing Business Act" with the creation of Project Express Lane Operation (Project ELO) or the Electronic Business One Stop Shop (e-BOSS).

Olivarez said that with the implementation of online services, Parañaque was named as the first the city with full online services from business application, online assessment and payment, including the delivery of permits and licenses.

He said several innovative business solutions such as online appointment system, online business permit application for renewal and news ones, and online payment and assessment were effectively implemented by Malaya.

The mayor added the city government also adopted the QRPh, a Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Circular No. 1055 series of 2019 designed to standardize the use of QR codes in various government transactions.

Malaya explained that QRPh provides any transacting individuals or businesses with added security feature to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable online payment.
