Abando believes it was all an accident, which involved import Chinanu Onuaku of the Skygunners.

“Siguro accident lang yon. Di ko alam. Ayoko na rin magsalita about don, so actually ayoko nang pagusapan yon eh,” Abando said during the EASL presscon at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City last Tuesday, Jan. 23.

The former NCAA MVP suffered several fractures on his vertebrae, sprained wrist ligaments and had a concussion after his horror fall when battling for a rebound against Onuaku in the second quarter of their match, where they eventually lost, 85-81.

The KBL fined Onuaku $2,300 (around P128,000) but with no game suspension, which Abando stressed that he will accept the ruling and there is no plan to file a legal case.

“Actually, di ko rin naman alam eh, yon yung naging hatol nila so mag-stick na rin ako don, and nangyari na eh,” Abando said.

“Napag-usapan naman namin sabi ko na [di na ako magpafile ng kaso],” he added.

Abando’s camp was mulling to file a civil lawsuit on Onuaku early this month regarding the incident.

The Gilas Pilipinas star will be sidelined when Anyang KGC faces the TNT Tropang Giga for a Final Four bid in EASL on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

Abando is set to return to South Korea as he will undergo a computed tomography scan which will determine his return on the hardcourt.
