Starbucks Philippines is treating senior citizens, PWDs, and more with a special promo

The coffee chain will be offering them a 40 percent discount on all food and drinks on Jan. 24


Coffee time is set to become a little sweeter on Jan. 24 as Starbucks Philippines will double the government discounts on all its food and beverages on that day for the special members of the community. The coffee chain is treating senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), national athletes, eligible solo parents, medal of valor with a 40 percent discount with 12 percent VAT exemption on their order.

The discount promo applies to its hand-crafted beverages (Tall, Grande and Venti Brewed, Espresso, Frappuccino, Teavana, Starbucks Refreshers, Starbucks Reserve beverages, and Doppio Espresso), bottled beverages, coffee traveler, food and pastries, whole beans and tea bags, and ready to eat products. Eligible customers can also get a P10 discount as well if they bring their personal cup or tumbler

According to its website, the promo will run in all Starbucks stores in the Philippines, from 5 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.. As for eligible solo parents, the discount only applies to those in Mandaluyong City, Quezon City, San Pablo City, and Angeles City, Pampanga. This special discount comes after one of its branches was criticized for limiting senior citizens’ discounts to only one drink and one food.

“Eligible customers can avail of this discount for their exclusive use and personal consumption upon presenting a valid, original, actual, and/or physical identification card (ID),” it said. “Offer must be personally availed by the eligible customer for personal consumption only for in-store, take-out, and drive-thru only… Offer is not valid for Mobile Order & Pay, GrabFood, Foodpanda, and Pick-a-roo transactions.”
