Pet care startup recognized for vaccination campaign

Online pet healthcare platform PetPal, a tech start-up under Globe Group's 917Ventures, has been recognized for its marketing efforts in conducting a pet vaccination drive and promoting responsible pet ownership.

It won the Gold for Marketing Award at the 2023 KMC Startup Awards, citing its "Pawtection Party" anti-rabies vaccination campaign, in partnership with animal nutrition brand UNAHCO Inc. and Ayala Malls UP Town Center, which was able to inoculate more than 300 pets.

The awarding body, made up of judges from the Robinsons Group, Bossjob, Kaya, and KMC Solutions, highlighted PetPal's "creative approach to pet vaccinations" using bright colors and an upbeat approach to engage positively with pet owners and elicit positive responses from the pet participants during their vaccinations.

The campaign was also able to help pet owners become more knowledge about vaccinations for their pets, and assist them in finding and availing of more resources to provide better care for their furry friends.

917Ventures Senior Venture Builder Carlo Flordeliza said the award received by PetPal affirms its "commitment to making pets live their healthiest and happiest lives."

"Pawtection Party is a stepping stone to the future where no pet is left unprotected, where the joy of having a furry companion is accompanied by the responsibility of ensuring their well-being," he said.

According to PetPal, it seeks to digitalize pet services through implementing veterinary teleconsults, home veterinary visits, and offering a PetPal Membership where pet owners can get unlimited consultations amongst other perks.

To fulfill this aim, the startup said it will launch an app for better pet care services like access to pet records, appointment scheduling, prescription requests, and telehealth consultations.
