Manila receives P200,000, basketball shoes from Chinese sportswear manufacturer

The City of Manila received P200,000 check and 200 pairs of basketball shoes from a sportswear manufacturer in China.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna- Pangan received the check and shoes from Peak Sport Products Co. on Thursday, Sept. 7.

Peak Sport Products Company was represented by its presidents Chairman Xu Jing Nan and Michael Chenglay, while Lacuna-Pangan was accompanied by City Administrator Bernie Ang, Manila Chinatown Development Council Chairman Willord Chua, Manila Sports Council (MASCO) Director Roel De Guzman, and FIBA Foundation Senior Manager Theren Bullock Jr.

Chenglay told the mayor that he had been away from the Philippines for the past 20 years and was glad to come home to a more progressive and highly-developed Manila.

Lacuna-Pangan thanked Chenglay and members of Peak Philippines and China for having chosen Manila as the recipient of their invaluable help.

The 200 pairs of rubber shoes were turned over to MASCO, which the mayor said will go a long way in promoting sports especially among the youth.
