CEBU CITY – A taxi and jeepney operator was found dead in his house in Barangay Labangon here on Saturday morning, September 30.

Police believe that robbery was the motive in the killing of Virgilio Waskin, a 60-year-old widower.
Police said it was possible that the victim was asleep when the culprit broke into his house.
Major Angelito Valleser, chief of the Labangon Police Station, said at least P70,000 cash was taken from the victim.
Pieces of jewelry amounting to P100,000 were also missing from the victim’s house, Valleser said.
The victim had a bullet wound in the face.
Valleser said there was also an indication that the victim’s face was slashed with a bladed weapon.
He said a suspect has already been identified.
Valleser withheld the name of the supposed culprit pending follow-up operations.
