Classes, work in Tuguegarao suspended for Bar exams


TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Mayor Maila Ting-Que suspended classes on all levels and work in government offices here on September 20 to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of the annual Bar examinations.

Que has issued Executive Order No. 37 for public safety and convenience after the Cagayan State University here was identified as one of the 14 testing centers in the Bar examinations.

"Upon consultation with the members of the City Peace and Order Council and the City Disaster risk Reduction and Management Council, it was recommended that classes and other school activities in public and private schools and work in government institutions be suspended on September 20, 2023 in the interest of public safety and convenience," the mayor said.

Exempted are offices and agencies directly involved in rescue, relief, and other services that are considered indispensable; hospitals and other institutions providing health care and medical services, and those involved in the delivery of basic and urgent government services.

Hundreds of law graduates from the Cagayan Valley region and other nearby areas are expected to take the examinations on Sept. 17, 20, and 24.
