The suspect was identified as aka "Jayson," 43, a resident of Barangay Isidro in Antipolo City.

According to the police report, the sibling of one of the victims of the Sept. 24 shooting incident in the town and another witness went to the Antipolo City Police Station to report the whereabouts of Jeffrey Arevalo Montes, the suspect in the shooting incident.

A follow up operation was held at the reported location of Montes on Monday, Sept. 25, where the police caught "Jayson" at the house instead of the target. "Jayson" was caught holding an unlicensed firearm, prompting the police to arrest him.

Seized from the suspect were a 9mm pistol, ammunition, a knife, multiple IDs that were allegedly owned by robbery hold-up victims, numerous black-colored helmets, and two motorcycles without plate numbers that were used by the suspects in committing their robbery hold-up operations in the city.

"Jayson" is now facing charges for violation of RA 10591 (Firearms Law) in relation to the Comelec gun ban and BP 6 (Illegal Possession of Deadly Weapon).

He is currently detained at the Antipolo Custodial Facility.

A manhunt operation was launched by the police for the arrest of Montes.
